Shopping with Lankatronics.com and Aptinex

Last weekend I got chance to visit to Aptinex (Pvt.) Ltd.  Aptinex is a Sri Lankan startup company and they are mainly do Electronic circuit designing, PCB prototyping, mass-production of PCBs, selling electronic components, development kits, etc. In my last visit I order some dsPICs, Atmel ATmega MCUs and some SMD passive parts from them. They have good collection of development kits and programmers which include Arduino, MSP430 base kits, ARM development boards, Altera FPGA kits, etc.

Another interesting thing they have is electro-mechanical parts. They have various kinds of actuator modules, servo mechanisms, gear systems and controllers. I think this is good news to Sri Lankan DIY electronic community, because right now it is bit difficult to get these items in local electronic shops.

According to Aptinex, Lankatronics.com is there market place. Lankatronics.com operates in both real and virtual nature. Anyone can order Aptinex products through this site and they have nice and quick delivery system. One interesting feature in this site is “suggest an item” page. As per my discussion with them they don't have minimum order quantity and customers can order “special/rare” parts through them for prototyping purposes also.

I believe this is an excellent opportunity to Sri Lankan DIY electronic community and like to rate there effort with a clear 5 out of 5!

dose this site 'Lankatronics.com' sell real genuine products.. i really don't think so.most of the stuff they sell are cheap ebay stuff.
and this 'Aptinex comapany' really do 'Embedded Design for complex systems'

I buy electronic components, modules, robot stuff from LankaTronic.com more often. The product quality is superb. They deliver items to doorstep. That's a great convenience.

They have original Arduino boards, Original Texas Instruments DSP boards, etc... Basically these can't be found anywhere in Sri Lanka.

They also have 1% tolerance resistors, 1% SMD resistors, capacitors, etc... Basically they are the only guys who do these.

More than everything LankaTronics and Aptinex run by a set of genuine engineers. Not just a few sales guys.

Also, owner of this blog who has written this article had visited this company by himself.

For that, we try several FM radio receiver ICs including TDA7000, CD2003/TA2003/TA8164, CXA1019, and KA22429. Arduino superheterodyne receiver

In this project, we extend the shortwave superheterodyne receiver we developed a few years ago . Like the previous design, this receiver operates on the traditional superheterodyne principle.  In this upgrade, we enhanced the local oscillator with Si5351 clock generator module and Arduino control circuit. Compared to the old design, this new receiver uses an improved version of an intermediate frequency amplifier with 3 I.F transformers. In this new design, we divide this receiver into several blocks, which include, mixer with a detector, a local oscillator, and an I.F amplifier. The I.F amplifier builds into one PCB. The filter stage, mixer, and detector stages place in another PCB. Prototype version of 455kHz I.F amplifier. In this prototype build, the Si5351 clock generator drives using an Arduino Uno board. Calculator for audio output transformers

Audio output transformers are heavily used in a vacuum tube and some (older) transistor base audio power amplifiers, but these days output transformer are quite hard to find and expensive item. For homebrew projects, the best option is to construct those transformers by ourselves and this script helps to calculate winding parameters for those transformers. This " AF output transformer calculator " script is written using Python and it works with most of the commonly available Python interpreters . The script is available to download at google drive under the terms of GNU General Public License version 3.0 . Homebrewed 25k: 4 output transformer Once supplied the input parameters this script provides a winding ratio, the number of turns required for primary and secondary winding and required copper wire gauges for both primary and secondary windings, etc. We construct several AF output transformers based on results of this script, which including transformers for M
